Celik and Rekosh will be creating a ceiling-bound installation as a way to engage the space and invite visitors to explore upwards. The artists, both graduates of sculpture from the Pratt Institute, have a similar interest and aesthetic for their site-specific installations. Using architectural space to assist in their design, their work is often in dialogue with the boundaries of the room itself, while embracing a physical and sculptural presence using various disparate elements. 14BC is thrilled to host this collaboration- one where visitors are challenged to read these elevated works with all their formal nuances and hidden messages.  

To Quote the artists:

"We have never made a perfect frame. There is no method of measuring and cutting that could prevent an adjustment or some maintenance. Even so, when each end meets another, it completes itself and lives in satisfaction of its completion; each piece relying on the other. Sometimes, all that slips through the gaps of an enclosure is just a glimpse of something being held together."
